Following the release of her latest R&B anthem ‘Trippin’, one-to-watch UK talent KARA MARNI returns with this garage influenced bop ‘Twisted Fantasy’ produced by legendary garage producer DJ Sticky (Ms Dynamite, Aaliyah, Hot Chip, Erykah Badu) and and one of the hottest next generation bassline producers ‘DJ Champion’ (Digital Soundboy, Hyperdub, Formula, Butterz, Hardrive).
The last 12 months have seen stand out moments for Kara. Great press across the board with features in NYLON, PopSugar, CULTED ‘Artists to watch 2021’, HYPEBAE, 1883, NUDE, VOGUE ‘What’s In the Wardrobe’ and The Guardians Track Of The Week. B List addition at BBC Radio 1Xtra (Young Heart), and over 250 national plays (Trippin), Annie Mac first play (Close). An outstanding 18 New Music Fridays, biggest playlist add to date (Chill Hits 3M listeners), 34 New Music Daily’s on Apple Music, 6M + combined streams and a huge +40k new followers. Featured in Music Allys Sandbox best campaigns of the year alongside the likes of Dua Lipa, Ashniko, Charlie XCX. This year saw Kara perform for the highly converted ITV Sunday Brunch show and the world’s first VR festival WIRELESS (Alexandra Palace). Brand collaborations including Karl Largerfeld, Rimmel, Puma X ASOS, Tommy Hilfigure, Ellese, Napapijri, Levis, Barbour.
This follows her 2nd EP release late 2019 which saw her on the 1Xtra A-list for 5 weeks, complete a sold out debut UK and European headline tour and headline the Pussy Parlure stage at Glastonbury. 2021 has so much more in store for Kara as she will be releasing her most ambitious project yet!
