For a lot of people 2020 was a year of solace. The lockdown forced us to stay in and look inwards. “WILD” was born from that solace, from a desire to know more about one's self and also a deep desire to be free.
The title track “WILD” and the lead single “Searching” follow Lady Donli on what seems like a deep dive into self discovery, at times it almost feels like you’re going on the journey with her.
You feel the pain but not in a tragic way because there’s something still hopeful about the way she sounds. Luckily, you’re not wrong ! There is hope and right from “Put It ON” till the project ends at “Lova Gyal”, there’s bursts of energy and confidence that lets you know that everything is okay.
With stand out records Like “MKK” it is obvious that Lady Donli doesn’t shy away from experimenting as the project often feels like a blend of R&B, reggae and Afrobeat. Donli shows a side of her youthfulness that we haven’t heard before, she’s playful, she’s free and most importantly - she’s WILD !
