The soundtrack to 1981 comedy classic "Stripes" composed by Elmer Bernstein made available digitally for the first time. Elmer Bernstein, who passed away in 2004 at the age of 82, composed for many films and television shows from the 1950s until his death, amassing a discography of hit records, an Academy Award, an Emmy Award, and two Golden Globes. Some of his other film credits include "The Man With The Golden Arm" [starring Frank Sinatra], "Ghostbusters," and Martin Scorsese's "Cape Fear." Newly remastered by Michael McDonald from the original analog three-track tapes and featuring nearly ten minutes of additional music, this definitive release commemorates the film’s fortieth anniversary and shines light on Bernstein’s deft and inspired handling of comedy. Bernstein has been profiled by esteemed outlets such as the NY Times and NPR. The film, directed by Ivan Reitman and starring Bill Murray and Harold Ramis, re-opened in theaters from August 29th to September 2nd.
