UAE born, Filipino rapper Dotty (fka, marc) is an up and coming artist based in Manila, Philippines. Although he has been writing random verses on pieces of paper since he was a child, the 19-year-old had only started to make music in late 2018. He had only been releasing music on Soundcloud and YouTube, and it wasn’t until July of 2019 when he decided to move his music to bigger streaming platforms. Having released music independently, the ‘bedroom musician’ has released numerous singles with “smoke break” being his most successful one yet. Amassing over 150,000 streams since its release on July 2019, he wanted to explore the idea of creating a body of work that embodied his sound. In March, 2020, he released “poster boy” — a 5-track EP that includes songs done by himself and some featuring other artists. The EP showcases Dotty’s versatility and ability to produce numerous sounds in Hip-Hop, which he hopes showcases just how long he intends to exist within the industry.
Dotty takes on a new level as he enlists in Manila-based label, Tarsier Records, and has since released 2 tracks, “talk about” and “don’t trip.” dotty continues to expand his musicality by collaborating with fellow Tarsier artists and is set to release more singles in this coming year.
