Japanese R&B songstresses, aimi and EMI MARIA
come back with a project of self-love
In 2023, R&B is alive and thriving. Artists have been bringing the soulfulness and vulnerability of 2000ʼs and 90ʼs R&B to the mainstream. aimi and EMI MARIA have united together again with more relatable stories of mental health journey, bringing back the nostalgic girls group R&B vibes.
The duo shared their first collaborative single "Day N Night," on October 26 last year. Now they came back with two new R&B tracks,“Howʼs The Weather?” and “Priority.” This single is almost like a conceptual project. It’s about a spiritual journey of self-discovery and self-love. As women who struggle with insecurities and self-doubt living in this era of social media and dealing with relationship issues, these songs are a real reflection of how they deal with mental health.
Their musical and personal chemistry is undeniable. They compliment each other so well and have become stronger as a creative duo with the great support of Modesty Beats, the producer who produced the previous single “Day N Night.” This project is another statement to the world that Japanese R&B is alive.
