We often think about what could’ve been, especially in the context of love. The question of “what if” looms over us and we’re left with the memories, beating ourselves up over what we would’ve done differently. What can be especially troubling is if the missed connection was due to not seeing eye to eye. We can be feeling the same exact way but still fail align due to slight differences of perspective, wants, needs, and timing. I think feeling so close yet so far is the most disappointing of all, because we can be feeling miles apart, but maybe we were only three words away.
