Haunted by memories of a love that once was, ‘i just want to hear your voice’ reflects on the sound of a voice that once brought comfort, life, and joy. This bittersweet yearning embodies acknowledgment of his past mistakes and while still craving the solace of a voice that once felt like home.
“‘i just want to hear your voice’ is the post-mortem of a past relationship,” Makazo recounts. “It served as a reflection for me to think about how I’ve loved, yet also hurt during this time. This song is special to me; it's an intimate exploration of my emotions and it exposes my vulnerable side.”
Combining elements of R&B, Pop and Hip-Hop, Makazo draws inspiration from artists like Bryson Tiller, The Weeknd and DPR IAN to frame his journey of self exploration.
‘i just want to hear your voice’ is the sixth of eight singles that are slated to be released over the course of 2023. These singles follow Makazo on his journey of self-discovery and reflection, culminating in his debut album 'GRADIENT', slated for release in November 2023.
