Today Become Forever is British legend Matt Deighton’s first album since a documentary aired in the UK that revealed him as one of British music’s most inexplicably overlooked, but valuable ‘buried treasures’. He is an artist who has remained hidden from the spotlight for two decades thanks to bipolar disorder, but who has continued to create works of utter beauty, and is considered in the UK as his generation’s Nick Drake. The documentary received widespread critical acclaim and featured artists such as Paul Weller. Matt is particularly celebrated for his unique guitar playing and use of open tunings, as well as recording his records live.

The album was in part produced by the legendary Ken Scott, who produced Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane for David Bowie, All Things Must Pass for George Harrison; as well as many recordings with Lou Reed, Frank Zappa and The Beatles.

Matt previously enjoyed modest success in Asia with his old band Mother Earth back in the 90’s – a band who were signed to Acid Jazz. Today Become Forever is, however, a mixture of folk-soul/acoustic, singer-songwriter; and a couple of indie rock moments with a flavour of britpop that are a nod to his previous albums.
