[Origin of Evil 저주의 몫 (Part3. 死鬪)]
이번에 소개할 디지털 앨범은 스플릿이 아닌 옴니버스 앨범이라 보는 것이 맞을 지 모른다. 아니, 옴니버스 앨범이라 보기에도 그 덩치가 굉장히 크며, 아마 우리나라의 음원시장, 그것도 익스트림 메탈 시장에서는 전무후무한 일이라 볼 수 있다.
무려 47개 밴드가 참여하였으며 14개 레이블이 폴린엔젤스프로덕션(Fallen-Angels Productions)의 "Origin of Evil (저주의 몫)"이라는 타이틀 아래 모여 총 플레이타임 04:15:41를 자랑하는 거대한 프로젝트를 탄생시킨 것이다.
다양한 나라별 밴드의 면면을 보노라면 도대체 어떻게 이 많은 밴드들을 선택했을까 상상이 가지않을 정도이다. 밴드 수만 많은 것이 아니며 각각의 밴드들은 전설격인 밴드부터 활발히 활동을 하고 자국 씬을 이끌어가는 밴드, 주목받고 있는 젊은 밴드들로 이루어져 있다.
어느 밴드라도 각 국의 마니아들의 고개를 주억거리게 할 만한 수준을 가진 밴드들이다.
일본을 넘어 전 세계 블랙/스래쉬 메탈팬들의 숭배대상인 Sabbat을 비롯하여 후배주자인 'Basilisk', 'Code Red', 중국 블랙메탈의 리더격인 'Original Sin'과 'Hellfire'는 극동의 자존심을 세우기에 충분하다.
True Norwegian Black Metal의 새로운 주자라 볼 수 있는 'Kvalvaag', 공격적인 블랙/스래쉬로 국내 마니아들의 간담을 서늘게 한 이탈리아의 'Krigere Wolf', 동남아의 저력을 상징하는 싱가포르의 'Draconis Infernum', 정통 스래쉬의 향수를 불러일으키는 아르헨티나의 'Vomit of Doom' 등도 반드시 주목해야할 밴드.
이 디지털 앨범은 오직 '폴린엔젤스프로덕션(Fallen-Angels Productions)'의 밴드캠프 사이트와 한국에있는 뮤직 웹사이트에서 디지탈 앨범으로만 발매되며, 국내에서는 총 4개파트(Part1. Original Sin (原罪), Part2. Red Moon (붉은 달), Part3. Desperate Struggle (死鬪), Part4. Eternal Sleep (永眠))로 각각의 파트마다 스래쉬메탈, 블랙메탈, 블랙/스래쉬메탈, 심포닉 블랙메탈, 둠 메탈등을 골고루 분배하여 즐겁게 들을 수 있도록 하였다.
각 파트별 앨범의 세부내용은 아래와 같으며 이번 기회를 통해 전 세계 언더그라운드에서 활동하는 익스트림 메탈 밴드들과 그들의 음악에대한 열정과 사랑 그리고 저력을 느껴보기를 바란다.
