Veggie Wraps, Vol. 4" is the fourth EP from Singapore's enigmatic hip hop act, BGourd. The EP was produced by newcomer E-plant and was executively produced by the veteran freeform artist Fauxe. This fourth iteration also serves as the finale for BGourd's "Veggie Wraps" project which saw him work closely with 4 different producers/beat makers to not only launch his career but to challenge the boundaries of defining Singaporean hip hop.
In this EP, BGourd continues to demonstrate his keen taste for left-field hip hop but also uses it as an opportunity to explore his musical identity through adding various acoustic elements. This EP also marks the first time BGourd has included features in his work. Enlisting the help of rappers like Mary Sue, and Danikiddo of Mediocre Haircut Crew, and singer-songwriter Krysta Joy, this EP hopes to bring each listener on a hip-hop journey like no other.
Focus track Description: ‘Who I Am’
"Who I Am" is the focus track of "Veggie Wraps, Vol. 4" which features former Noise Mentorship Winner Krysta Joy as guest vocalist. The track explores philosophies shared between Krysta and BGourd – embracing your individuality and coming to terms with your identity. Sonically, the track aims to keep listeners on their toes by sequentially adding elements reminiscent of a tropical holiday. The track opens with Krysta's rich and emphatic vocals before turning your attention to BGourd's frenetic wordplay, "Who I Am" is the summer bop you didn’t know you were looking for.
