Combining elements of R&B and Pop, Makazo draws inspiration from artists like Bryson Tiller, The Weeknd and DPR IAN to frame his journey of self exploration.
“I would like to think of this song as an introspection of the feelings I had at that point in my life. The emotional exploration in ‘half my heart’ served as a sort of catharsis for how that relationship ended.” Makazo continues.
‘half of my heart’ is the fourth in a bevy of singles that are slated to be released over the course of 2023. These singles follow Makazo on his journey of self-discovery and reflection, culminating in his debut album 'gradient' in November 2023.
